Everyone has the right to happiness!
Were you just sailing through life, pretty much minding your own business when .....WHAM!
Wipeout! A couple of life-changing events threw you overboard into a sea of darkness and despair. You know the sort where some days you wonder if it's even worth getting out of bed. Too much effort for way too little reward - where effort vs. achievement = minus 2 or even less.
Well, I chased down those 'Happiness Pirates' and took back my precious bounty. Those days were black and painful and at times I wondered if I would ever escape the dungeons of heartache and loneliness.
Don't worry, it's poetic licence, but that's an example of how things can appear at low times in our lives. Life is a great teacher so they say but it took the wonder of hindsight to recognise there had been some great adventures on the way. I visited many 'islands' in my quest and there my little boat took onboard all the supplies and resources it needed for the next leg of its 'heroic' journey.
Cliches I know, but Life as a journey,or a sailboat are both examples of metaphor, and provide an invaluable personal development resource.

This light-hearted introduction to my website, written from my 'destination' so to speak, revealed, for me the healing properties of stories. Reading it back it is quite depressing, and yet NOW I view it as light-hearted, because I am outside of that situation and it is in the past.
