Anger Poems

How to deal with negative emotions? These anger poems originate from rage, infuriation, frustration, dissatisfaction and disagreement.

Red Hot Rage

Red hot rage
Boils fiercely inside
Got to keep a lid on it
Got to simmer down
Heart pounding
Head throbbing
Body tightly wound
Red hot rage
Adrenaline fed
Fight or flight
Shouting in my head
Fists clenched
Teeth gritted
Fit to explode
Retaliate
Intimidate
Hit the road
Red hot rage
Volcano spurting
Anger, hatred
Pain and hurting
Stand my ground...
Turn around...
Walk away

Pauline Oliver

Writing down your feelings can only be good. Anger poems help us understand the powerful emotions we experience and may help you to diffuse your own rage and anger.

Infuriating

No help needed,
No advice taken,
Not up for discussion,
Can only be wrong.
Not his problem,
Not of his making,
Someone else's fault
All along.

Do it his way
The only right way
What do YOU know
You're not him
Nothing ever easy
Uphill struggle
Life a battlefield
Outlook grim

No chinks of light
No armour piercing
No way back
Life's a drudge
Sense of humour
Lost in action
No fun and laughter
He bears a grudge

Pauline Oliver

Anger Emergency Repair Kit

Feeling out of balance
Somewhat knocked off course
A little out of kilter
Was I trampled by a horse?
No it was just an argument
That got rather out of hand
Now left with negative feelings
Alone and mad I stand
Screwed and crumpled up inside
Fists clenched tight in rage
Time for emergency repair kit
For state change to engage

Intuition instructs me
Stand upright straight and tall
Focus on your breathing
Feel chest rise and gently fall
Sweep arms gracefully overhead
Like angels in the snow
Breath in fully on the upswing
Breath out as down they go
Slowly gently diffuse the anger
Let it melt and drain away
This technique keep for the future
Lest you should need another day

Pauline Oliver

How mighty is the destructive force of anger!

Anger

When anger rears its ugly head
Better some things go unsaid
More often anger renders shouts
Tirades of evil thoughts pour out
Anger stirs the beast within
Hatred, vengeance, deadly sin
Pain and hurt consume one's being
Blind rage, violence, disagreeing
Negative behaviour fuels descent
Into physical abuse, emotional torment
Panic, fear, unbelievable
Resulting injury inconceivable

Pauline Oliver

Being aware of the tell-tale physical signs of anger in your body, means you can take action to control it early on.

Seeds of Anger Poem

The first murmurings of anger
Well-up from within my chest
I rationalise my response
Trying to do my best
Not to take the bait
Not to sound aggrieved
But to hold it all together
Not to feel so peeved

Those first murmurings of anger
Are nature's warning sign
My body's feeling threatened
Beliefs and values don't align
Was it in the words or tone
Discordant to my ear
Body language confrontational
You're in my space - too near

Those first murmurings of anger
Stir something deep inside
What violation do I feel
What can i not abide
Mindless taunting, wicked jibes
Denigration of family and friend
An overly bombastic attitude
Sarcastic comments without end

First murmurings of anger
I must heed their wise alarm
Too much out-of-control anger
Will cause me long term harm

Too Angry for Words

There must be a reason I am feeling this way
Too angry for words just as they say
One minute I was fine, but then suddenly
Anger flowed thorugh me like sap through a tree
An injustice I sense, that initially passed me by
But now am close to tears, so ready to cry
Perhaps it is not anger, but frustration instead
Real life is more complex than life in my head
It was over the weekend this anger came brewing
And today was the outburst like a volcano spewing

Pauline Oliver
