Taste of Happiness

happiness poems - mediterranean happiness food

happiness poems - ice cream happiness food

happiness poems - strawberries - happiness food

happiness poems - pizza no. 1 happiness food

What's your favourite flavour
Your number one taste
Something so yummy
You dare not let waste
What great food sensation
Salt, bitter, sour or sweet
Excites your tastebuds like crazy
Has everything else beat

If there was only one
You could not live without
What flavour would you choose
Be sure now, no doubt

Sometimes it's the simplest
Of foods that we crave
Bread and butter, tripe and onions
No, come on now behave

I'm talking 'bout

A freshly cut pineapple
To eat on the beach
Sun ripened strawberries
Or a freshly picked peach
Double choc chip ice cream
Awash With caramel sauce
Freshly made pepperoni pizza
Draped in mozzarella of course
Cool refreshing lemon sorbet
A hot Mexican chilli dish
Roasted salted cashew nuts
Sea bass, salmon, tuna fish
Olives stuffed or otherwise
Stilton, Camembert and Brie
Fritata topped with goats cheese
Spinach and ricotta Cannelloni

But,

If you really had to choose only one
You could undeniably not live without
What lip-smacking, palate-drooling flavour
Is irresistible beyond all doubt?

Inspiration for happiness poems is all around. With life a great adventure to come, what can be more inspiring than a toddler! Help your baby or toddler communicate earlier and more effectively with baby signing?

Toddler Happiness

Happiness is two and a half
Alert and curious from waking
Climb, discover, hide'n'seek
Adventure in the making

He's mastered walking, talking, feeding,
Now explores his wider world
His curiosity surely knows no bounds
Til naptime, when back in bed he's curled

What's this? What does it do?
Push it, pull it, twist it around
This button makes the lights work
This one makes the siren sound

Chuckles of happiness and laughter
Eyes filled with wonder and joy
Love hot enough to make your heart melt
He's my beautiful toddler boy

Yet suddenly there's thunder brewing
Things don't always go his way
He needs your help but does not want it
Terriblle twos tantrums spoil the day!

Just as quickly it is over
A safe space and a little time out
Then its back into the garden
To figure some more things out

Sand and water, swing and slide
Mastering jumping on two feet
Scoot a bike or truck around the yard
Toddler happiness is so neat

happiness poems - wedding happiness. Photo St. Nicholas Church, Laindon

Wedding Happiness

A steeple tall, carved stone, distressed beams,
An English church, a country scene
High on a hill overlooking the parish
A beautiful place for a wonderful marriage

Friends and family take to the pews
Groom and bestman await the news
The bride has arrived - dressed in satin and lace
Diamantes and sequins hand-stitched in place

Two beautiful bridesmaids bouquets in hand
Follow the bride to where she will stand
There at the altar beside her groom
An air of expectation fills the whole room

Welcome to all, the service begins
A choir and the organ lead the singing of hymns
Prayers are said, rings are blessed
The register signed, the marriage witnessed

Once more at the altar joined hand in hand
The bride and her groom patiently stand
Now is the moment to start their new life
As the vicar announces they are now Man and Wife

Cameras flash as the groom kisses his bride
The congregation are happy, but some teary-eyed
Shedding tears of happiness, in this ceremony to share
On a perfect wedding day for this beloved pair.

Confetti and photos complete the day
A white limousine to whisk them away
Champagne and speeches, good food, the best wine
The first dance is theirs -to let their love shine

Good cheer to you both and much happiness
May the future you share truly be blessed!

These Happiness Poems help define Happiness.

The Meaning of Happiness

As I pondered the meaning of happiness
I sat and thought awhile
The outwards signs are clear enough
Sparkling eyes and a beaming smile

And inwardly how can one tell
Or guage this emotion intact
For it blends with many others
To me that is a fact

Joy, Pleasure and Ecstasy
As friends together band
Difficult to separate
For they go hand in hand.

Pauline Oliver

Happiness is Contagious

What to you brings happiness?
No wonder 'tis well sought
But happiness is contagious
And easily is caught

So acquaint yourself with fine spirit
And bind it with a knot
To keep it close forever
For 'tis something you forgot

The child in you remembers well
And begs you bring them back
Those long and happy playful days
That now your life may lack

Pauline Oliver

happiness poems - your smile

Your Smile

Happiness does become you
Your smile, it lights the world
A precious gift to those around you
Happiness is a child.
Nurture her
Take care of her
Nourish her with your love.
Keep her safe
Hold her close to you
Happiness is a dove.
Let him fly, let him be free
To soar the heavens wide
To spread the peace and happiness
Your heart knows deep inside.

Pauline Oliver

I LOVE the simplicity of these next two Happiness Poems.

Happiness is:

An artistic squiggle
A toddler’s giggle
It’s a warm glow inside

The sky at dawn
A baby being born
Its that feeling of deep joy

A sparkling waterfall
A crisp cuckoo’s call
It’s a lightness in your life.

Only beauty abounds
No discordant sounds
It’s a knowing you are free.

Pauline Oliver

Pictures of happiness

Sunbeams dancing
Horses prancing
Dragonfly flitting
Buddah sitting
Cats purring
Wheels whirring
Birds singing
Bells ringing
Snowball fighting
Candle lighting
Flower smelling
Story telling
Baby cuddles
Jumping in puddles
Singing in the rain
Strolling down memory lane

Pauline Oliver

One key to happiness is positive thinking, and this Happiness Poem goes with me everywhere in my heart.

The Rainbow Bubble of Happiness

Living in a bubble
Protected from hurt and pain
The rainbow colours of happiness
Energise my brain
And my body loves to move
To the rhythm and the beat
I could dance until the sunrise
Being happy is so neat

Right here inside my bubble
The world's a real cool place
The rainbow colours of happiness
Put a smile on my face
And my brain loves the games
That keep this bubble strong
Cos it's positive thinking
That moves my life along

How clever is this brain
To build me such a thing
With the rainbow colours of happiness
The magic that they bring
As they harmonise my thoughts
To the music of my mind
And a contentment to be me
Being happy, what a find!

Pauline Oliver

A new baby brings the greatest joy. As you will discover this Happiness Poem has a special significance in my life.

happiness poems - new baby poem

BOO-2

A new life entered my world today
A beautiful baby boy
Another grandson in my family
We know he'll bring such joy.

As yet he has no given name
Affectionately called BOO-2
We already have BOO-1 you see
An older brother he'll look up to

He's lucky because he has BOO-1
To help him on his way
With his sunny disposition
We'll have laughter all the way

We hope BOO-1 and BOO-2
Will make a happy family pair
Of course there'll be some tantrums
While they figure out how to share

Their parents love them both dearly
And will guide them in their wise ways
Their future looks mighty rosy
We know there'll be lots of happy days.

happiness poems - looking out on beauty green

Happy Memories

Standing here at my window
Looking out on beauty green
A small suburban garden
I remember well the scene

My girls they played so happily
On climbing frame, slide and swing
In the sandpit and the paddling pool
Now 'tis their children who they bring

The boys learn how to walk and run
And toddle on beauty green
So laughter fills our garden still
Can you picture this happy scene?

Pauline Oliver

This next happiness poems is inspired by a wonderful celebration, a wedding.
For Hayley and Dan. May you have a lifetime of happiness.

A Wedding Day

happiness poems - wedding day

Happiness is a wedding
A union of souls
A strong and loving partnership
A fusion of goals

A public proclamation
A family celebration
An exchanging of rings
A token of commitment it brings
To build a future together
Through fair or stormy weather
In sickness and health
Through poverty and wealth

Relationships are not easy
They take patience and understanding
Relationships can be delicate
And might need some careful handling

Carry these precious moments with you
Then you need not go astray
Remind each other often
Of the love you shared this day

Pauline Oliver

Return to previous wedding poem
This Happiness Poem is for foodies. Got to admit I find it difficult to choose betweeen them.

Happiness Dessert

Rhubarb and custard, Treacle tart,
Bread and butter pudding
Let's make a start

Apple crumble, Strawberry cheesecake,
Chocolate profiteroles
What shall we make?

Chocolate brownies, Pecan pie,
Banana muffins
Give them a try

What's your favourite?
Why do you crave it?
Does it make you feel scrummy
In your Happiness tummy.

It can be the tiniest of thing that brings the greatest pleasure as another of my happiness poems suggests. However, you have to be present and open to notice them.

Happiness Sought

Be alert
Be vigilant
Be thankful
And be wise
Happiness is there
Before your eyes

'Tis

The daintiest dance
The merest glimmer
A chink of light
A lustrous shimmer
A soulful note
The faintest cry
A song of love
A sweet reply
A tug on heartstrings
The utmost longing
A sigh of relief
A sense of belonging
The tiniest moment
The sweetest thought
A smile in your heart
Tis happiness caught!
