Home is Key to HappinessHome is key to happiness Somewhere to call your own Castle, house, caravan or tent A place where you have grown. Where family bonds and ties Nurture your journey on this earth Creating your unique identity Giving you a sense of worth. For some the open road is home Life flourishing through change of place Choosing where they lay their head Travelling - at their own pace. Home is key to happiness Your heart will guide you well For home is where the heart is You’ve heard it often tell. Pauline Oliver
A New Home
Happiness is a new home
A new adventure to begin
Rooms to fill and decorate
As you move your possessions in
With boxes neatly labelled
Beds, sofas, tables and chairs
Filling up the hall and lounge
And some to take upstairs
There's so much to look forward to
That journey now is done
Moving house can be so stressful
And seldom is much fun
So warmly congratulate yourself
You did it, paved the way
For new friends and neighbours
With whom to work and play
When you close your new front door
And shut out the world around
Survey your newly chosen home
That haven you have found
A wonderful new blank canvas
A palette for your lifestyle
Cherished memories for the future
Fully furnish it with many a smile!

Happiness is PetsHappiness is a pet
With feathers, scales or fur
A parrot who answers back, I bet
A cat - she will surely purr
A dog will get you out
And can guide you on your way
Meeting people round about
Chasing balls and sticks to play
A horse will take you far and wide
Steed and rider both unite
Through the town or countryside
View life from a different height
Keep snake and tortoise in a vivarium
Hutch for guinea pig or rabbit
Tropical fish in an aquarium...
But beware Piranhas habit
Which ever pet is right for you
To love, clean, groom and feed
There is plenty for you to do
Give them the attention they need
And what for you in return you ask
Oh, happiness from all above
Their greatest gift - they give to you
Their UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

Happiness to OwnChildren laughing, cheeky faces
People smiling, magical places
Glorious sunsets, red and gold
Scenic views, mountains old
Rivers and lakes, wild blue ocean
Fill my being with such emotion Clouds in blue sky - fluffy white
Stars in dark sky, jewels of night
Heavens above and earth below
Horizons distant - far to go
Colours vivid, scent breeze-blown
Happiness to call thy own.

Memory Lane Happiness PoemsThe beauty of Happiness is that you can find it anywhere...if you really want it!
What's more you can include it in your own Happiness Poems too.Piccalilli Sunshine
Crackers and cheese....mmm there's a thought
With...mustard piccalilli, you know the sort
Crispy onions, crunchy cauli,Zucchini and cucumber
Bathed in scrummy golden sunshine...
Yep, I know it's not everyone's number
It's more than just a pickle - almost 'bewitchin'
Oh those sweet childhood memories
Of Grandma's kitchen.
Pauline Oliver
This old seaside town at the mouth of the River Thames holds magical memories particularly for Londoners who travelled by train as children for a day out at the seaside. Perhaps you were one of them?
Old Leigh in January
With gloves, hats and scarves, wrapped well for the cold
The Sunshine beckons the young and the old
A sharp bracing wind blows 'cross old Leigh-on-sea
As families visit for seafood and tea.
The tide's out today, the mud chocolatey brown
Except for the channel the ships travel down
Well laden with cargo, containers piled high
Sit on the sea wall and watch them sail by.
Passed down through generations, quaint clapboard cocklesheds
sell freshly harvested cockles from these estuary beds
Jellied eels, mussels, shrimps and prawns in a tub
Beside the old cobbled streets, outside the Peter Boat pub
Crab, mackerel, Silky rollmops and a crusty roll
All followed up by a leisurely stroll
The museum, the chandlers and art gallery in reach
Walk the narrow cobbled street to the small sandy beach
In the opposite direction, behind Cockle Row
Down on the foreshore is the place to go
Brush your cobwebs away, breathe fresh iodine smells
On this crunchiest of beaches where they discard the shells
Here fishing boats rest awaiting next tide
Heavy plant machinery close by their side
Old Leigh's reputation is known far and wide
The freshest seafood and the British seaside.

Happiness is...Poems
Happiness is a Butterfly
Happiness is a butterfly
A sit and watch it flutterby
A catch it if you can a-fly
An off into the sky - a-fly
Happiness is a bumble bee
A buzz around and wait and see
A visit all the flowers with glee
A buzz away, its honey for tea!
Happiness is a ladybird
A crawl upon your hand a-bird
A hold your breath, say not a word
A 'fly away home' song you've heard
Pauline Oliver
