Microwave Fudge Recipe

This creamy chocolate microwave fudge recipe couldn't be easier - only three basic ingredients! How to make fudge in a hurry. If you've never made fudge before, then it's a great start to cooking homemade fudge and a simple way to make a great fudge gift. Cut into neat squares and pack into pretty boxes. Just one batch will make several cute presents or add to your food gift baskets for any occasion.

This basic recipe uses only 3 main ingredients - Chocolate, condensed milk and icing sugar, but as the photo suggests you might want to add your favourite flavourings too! Try:
Peanut butter,
glace cherries,
dried cranberries,
chopped or whole nuts,
raisins
crystallised ginger.

Microwave Fudge

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: approx 2 minutes
Makes 96 pieces

Ingredients

3 cups chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups (300ml can)sweetened condensed milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup icing sugar
pinch salt
  1. Line a 12 x 8 inch baking dish with waxed paper. (alternatively you can lightly butter the dish)

  2. In a large glass microwavable bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the micowave. Check and stir every 30 seconds.

  3. It will take a couple of minutes depending on your microwave power.

  5. Stir chocolate until smooth.

  6. Into the melted chocolate stir the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, icing sugar and salt

  7. Pour into the prepared baking pan, smooth top and chill until firm.

  8. Cut into small squares to serve.

Delicious but soft at room temperature so best store it in the refrigerator...if you can resist eating it for that long!

Roll small balls of fudge and coat in nuts, coconut, cocoa, chocolate vermicelli or 'hundreds and thousands' for an added touch. This fudge is soft enough to be rolled, cut or shaped. Wear gloves if you don't want to be licking your fingers for the rest of the day!!
