Manifest your Goals with Vision Boards, Dream Boards

What are Vision Boards, Dream Boards?

It is a collection of images, words and thoughts compiled relative to your goals - those things that you wish to attract into your life. Make it part of your goal setting activities and harness its power to your favourite goal setting techniques.

This 'collage' focuses and intensifies your thoughts and desires to hone in on specific elements you desire, - e.g. a new car, job, holiday, relationship, etc..and works for your long, medium or short-term goals.

The best goal setting techniques include visualisation, internalisation via the senses, and 'future-pacing' as a means of both testing the congruency of the goals and to bolster intent.

How to create Vision Boards

You've set your goals - right! (Written goals are way more powerful than idle thought)
You're ready to take action - right! (without action goals are useless)

To create a physcial vision board.

STEP ONE
You'll need a poster board and glue. Choose a board big enough to not feel you are limiting or crowding youreslf.

STEP TWO
Gather together images that most closely reflect the objects of your goals.
Cut them from magazines, print out from the computer, or sketch or draw your own. Choose plenty of different images, again so as not to limit yourself. You are sure to discard someof them when you finally choose which ones to include on your vision board.
You will also need at least one pictures of yourself one in which you feel and look positive, great, glowing, energised etc.

STEP THREE
Now do the same with motivational words or phrases. Can;t find any you like? Draw, write, embellish your own or print out from the computer.

STEP FOUR
Timescale for achievement? (Effective goals are time- bound) Add a future date, timeline or calendar if relevant, or an image depicting a particular time of year e.g. a season.

STEP FIVE
Take your time to look through your assembled collection. Discard or put aside any that no longer 'speak' to you sufficiently. Arrange your 'visions' on the board in a way that you find aesthetically pleasing. Remember to include fabulous a picture of you - at your best of course. Glue or pin i everything in place.

Put your board in a prominent place in your own space. Somewhere you will can review it purposefully often. Get into the habit of 'purposefully' reviewing your vision board each day - give it more than a cursory glance...and if you have included affirmations then now is the time to repeat them to yourself.

Vision Board Software

There are many software packages available for you to create and visualize your goals on your computer, mobile phone, iPod, iPhone or your personal web space. Upload your own images or select from their database of images, add power words for each image if you so desire.

More dynamic than a physical dream board, you can include your favourite music, motivational, uplofting, calming, relaxing - whatever you need for each goal. Add powerful affirmations too and you can save it as a screensave, print off a poster for your wall and have it to have wherever you go.
